We would like to invite you to become one of our sponsors for the 10th Annual Covington 5K Run/ Walk. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 1st on the Covington Circle Trail. Last year with the help of more than 35 sponsors and 220 participants we were able to donate $5,600 to the Covington Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
Over the past nine years we have raised $53,450 that has benefited various individuals and organizations within the Covington community. We are very grateful for the overwhelming response from previous race participants, sponsors, and donors within the local surrounding areas that helped make this possible. We are aware of the many monetary requests you may receive throughout the year, and we truly appreciate your consideration of sponsoring our event.
We are very excited about the 10th Annual Covington 5K Run/ Walk because net proceeds will benefit the Covington Cooperative Swim Program. The Covington Cooperative Swim Program has operated with such great success they are expanding their reach. The expansion means additional swim wear, towels, and other supplies will be necessary to continue the level of success they have started. Any additional net proceeds above and beyond the request of the Covington Cooperative Swim Program will be contributed to the Western Indiana Community Foundation benefiting other Covington Area projects.
Each year we seek new sponsors who are as passionate as we are about the welfare of our community. Sponsorships are needed to help cover the expenses associated with organizing and promoting this event. New this year is our partnership with Crossroads Events, a Terre Haute, IN based company, who will provide the official timing of the 2019 Covington 5K. Crossroads Events offers some of the latest race event services available to our participants. The goal of this new partnership is to continue to develop and grow the Covington 5K as we celebrate the 10th annual running of the event.
While we welcome all donations, we are excited to offer three tiers of sponsorship this year:
Gold Medal $300 Silver Medal $150 Bronze Medal $75
We cannot do this without you, our sponsors, and we are thankfully blessed to have your support. While we do all that we can to be responsible with event expenses, some larger costs are incurred such as shirts, timing services, and awards when organizing the Covington 5K Run/Walk. We would love to discuss Platinum Level corporate sponsorship opportunities with any organization or group interested in partnering with us to cover these larger expenses. Platinum Level sponsors will have the opportunity to be featured on a finish line banner, larger logo on participant shirts, and regularly recognized throughout event marketing. Our next sponsorship opportunity is the Gold Level which features a logo or name on the participant shirts, pre and event day recognition/advertisement, plus Silver and Bronze level perks. Only Gold and Platinum level sponsors will be featured on the shirts allowing for better potential visibility. Our Silver Level sponsorship scores social media spotlights plus Bronze level perks. Bronze Level sponsorship perks include race packet recognition listing and an opportunity to provide packet materials (pens, stationary, ad inserts, business card, etc.).
If you feel that you cannot commit to one of the sponsorship amounts, consider becoming an event donor / fund raiser via the registration page. We have Fund raising and Donation options available for all to easily direct friends, family, and any one you run into at the grocery store toward to help us continue to promote a healthy community. This is an excellent opportunity to help give back to the community in a big way without limits of proximity.

“Hi!” I am Joshua Allen, a Covington native, alumni, and proud hometown supporter in addition to the new race director of the Covington 5K Run/Walk. It is my honor to take on the task of leading the Covington 5K forward as Beth and Raquel have for the past 9 years. Beth and Raquel have continued to be instrumental in the background and the Covington 5K would not be the success it is today without the foundation they have built.
